The
Silicon Valley SCORE Chapter - sponsored by the
SBA, is a volunteer management counseling program comprising
active and retired business executives who volunteer
their time and advice to help small business owners
understand the many aspects of starting and maintaining
a business. While the many years' experience of these
executives could be considered priceless, their services
are free to you. Remember, whatever business path you're
following, a SCORE counselor who has already traveled
that same path is there to help
The
Silicon Valley Small Business Development Center (SV-SBDC) - cosponsored by the SBA
and Humboldt State University Sponsored Programs Foundation, has been offering South
Bay entrepreneurs targeted training and consulting services
for more than a decade. If you are experiencing problems
in growing or expanding your business, you may receive
free consulting services from the SBDC. Its purpose
is to further economic development through the provision
of management and technical assistance to small business
owners. The SBDC provides consulting, management training
and referrals.
Northern
California Supplier Development Council (NCSDC)
- certifies established minority-owned owned businesses
to subcontract to the private sector. In addition, NCSDC
offers a variety of entrepreneurial programs, including
training, networking and special events related to procurement
opportunities.
East
San Jose Community Law Center's Small Business Development
Group - assists low-income individuals with legal
issues related to starting or running their small business,
including: preparing or reviewing initial documents
to form the business as well as service agreements and
contracts; complying with licensing and permit requirements;
and, referral to other resources.
